Up Birthday Theme!

On my hubby's 30th Birthday, I wanted to do something very special for him, as he's going out of country a year mission and I'm gonna miss a lot of special occasions with him.

For the start, I made the personalized invite via Picmonkey for my hubby's 30th Birthday. BTW, his nickname is Chakku.;)

Chakku's 30th Birthday

I wished him HAPPY BIRTHDAY at midnight and gifted him photograph of our wedding day so that he can have our BIG DAY memory by his side, no matter how far we are from each other!

I bought the Nepali kagaj photo frame from Mahaguthi who sells best handicraft items in Nepal.

Gift#1: Our BIG Day Picture

As my hubby is a morning person unlike me, that's why I had sneaked up at night to put the customized DIY hand wash dispenser: My Superhero "HOBBY" Happy Birthday in the bathroom. In the morning, he was very happy to this very punny gift.

Hand wash Dispenser DIY:
  • I designed My Superhero and Happy Birthday via Picmonkey and printed it out.
  • I stuck it on the HOBBY hand wash dispenser.

As the day started warming up, I surprised him with coffee-in-bed and a lollipop bouquet which read "When Suddenly...BOOM! 30 Sucks and Rocks!(at the same time)...OMG! Chakku, you're old! LOL!" which had 30 pieces of lollipop on it.

Lollipop Bouquet DIY:
  • I kept floral foam inside the flowerpot which I had made previously.
  • Then, planted 30 pieces of lollipop into the foam and the card.

Actually, gift#4 has the interesting backstory i.e. my sister Puse had asked him that what does he want for his birthday gift? In reply, he said - Nothing! Hence, the Jar of Nothing!lol AND this one made him burst into laughter.

Gift#4: The Jar of  Nothing!

But, most of all I was anticipating to reveal gift#5 to him. Initially, my plan was to let the 30 gas balloons to float above bed and tie up 30 special photographs on each of the balloons (as shown in the picture below); however it didn't work out like I'd imagined. My friends brought the gas balloons secretly in the evening and stuck all the pictures in a row as the balloon strings got tangled and we had a very little time before the cake cutting ceremony. My sister and I hung string lights around the curtain which gave very dreamy, romantic and whimsical ambiance. When we are all done, it was way better than I had pictured! And of course, Mr. Hubby was very SURPRISED and happy to see what we did with the room!

This what happened...but I loved it!

As for his birthday cake,I have recently started baking so I had made a Chocolate (loads of) Chips Cake.

Little did he know that after the cake cutting ceremony, there's was one last surprise awaiting for him that was his real birthday gift, which was hidden inside the big packing box accompanied with gas balloons. So, when he opened it and balloons came out flying...and it was awwwweesoommme!
